Tommy Martinez
Tommy is a New York City based composer and technologist working through guitar, synthesis, electroacoustics and code. He creates custom software, music, and schematics for creative systems and has performed at MoMA PS1, the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, the Whitney Museum of American Art, National Sawdust, and Harvestworks.
He is currently the Director of Technology at Pioneer Works in New York City where he leads a residency and public programs initiative that provides support for artists producing experimental and socially engaged electronic media work. He has lectured on sound and electronic art at UC Berkeley, Stanford University, NYU, Parsons, Teachers College, Columbia University, Sarah Lawrence College and Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.
